Subject: Jerusalem Lodge Bantam Basball 2005

The Courtice Parks Baseball and Softball Association Bantam season began for the Jerusalem Lodge No. 31 A.F.&A.M. with two wins against Nestleton; first game at Cartwright Field was 18 - 8 win and then home at Pennfound Park with an entertaining 15 - 14 come from behind win.

All the boys shook off the winter's rust and found their cleats worked well in the frozen tundra as the season began on two chilly evenings where no one complained... the Summer started pretty cool!! Offence carried the day as the boy's in blue all scored and the defence was there when needed at Cartwright Field, a neat bowl with a terrific clay infield that played true.

The game was limited to four innings as it started late due to equipment troubles. Jeff Walsh and Billy Zega each pitched two strong innings for Jerusalem Lodge while everyone had their bats swinging.

Back at Pennfound Park on Thursday we saw a much more determined Nestleton Bantam boy's team bring their game up a notch. The lead changed hands four times over the five complete innings played. In the bottom of the 5th and with two outs, Jerusalem Lodge continued to swing away. Zach Lintner cranked a one hopper to the fence scoring two to tie the game. Dylan Burnham brought home Lintner from second on a single through the right infield to put the boy's in blue on top 15 - 14.

The Jerusalem Lodge No. 31 Bantam boy's baseball team play in an eleven team inter-municipality league made up from Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville and Nestleton.
