Jerusalem Lodge - Masonic Music Bursary
In 1994, Jerusalem Lodge No.31, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, after inspiration from the Music Department at Clarke High School, established a Masonic Music Bursary of $100 for students who would be continuing their education and studying music as part of that endeavour. Since that time, a Music Bursary has been presented to a student at each of the three original High Schools in the area, when an application had been received from the school.
In 2007, after much discussion, it was decided that the old format and value of the bursary would be changed. To that end, a new Music Bursary was established, to be known as “The Masonic Music Bursary”. This new bursary is for $1000 and will be awarded each year to a successful candidate.
