Hello Brethren … Welcome back!
I hope your summer was enjoyable and has left you refreshed and renewed. So many activities have happened since my last communication that I would like to recall to your minds a retrospect of the summer months.
The month of June as many of you know was our BBQ night that we enjoyed a relaxed meal of Steak, Chicken and all the fixings. The event was well attended and congratulations should go to W.Bro. Oswald Mathurin for bringing the jerk chicken. What a hit it was and very tasty too. The entertainment of the evening was unparalleled from anything we have done in the past. The comedy and singing that ensued that night left a great feeling in my heart and was a great segue to the holidays.
The next event was the graduating ceremonies at Clarke High School, where I had to privilege of presenting the Jerusalem Lodge Bursary to a graduating student continuing their studies in music as a major. Michelle Ferreira received the award and congratulations to her regarding her music endeavors. Our Bursary award will be increased to $1,000 for the 2008 Masonic year!
The month of July was the Grand Lodge Communication held at the Royal York Hotel in Downtown Toronto. It was good to see so many of you attending for the fellowship and fun. The Grand Masters reception dinner was really good! Congratulations to all who were elected by the membership! Congratulations are also in order to our very own R.W.Bro. Robert E. Jones PDDGM on a successful year. The Brethren of Jerusalem Lodge are very proud of you as you have represented us with honor and dignity.
The month of August was a thrill as we attended a Toronto Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre. I would like to thank W.Bro. Craig Elliott who organized the event relative to tickets and transportation. Great seats, a great time with good people. Let’s do it again next year!
Our first meeting of September will be Past Masters Night Brethren. R.W.Bro. Robert E. Jones will preside in the chair of King Solomon to conduct the degree of the evening on Messer’s: Henry Kroon and Jacob Kroon. That’s right Brethren; this will be a double first degree on a father and son. Let us come together for our first meeting and watch our Past Masters do their thing. I understand that we may have in attendance our new DDGM, R.W.Bro. Iain Oliver. Come on out to Lodge and renew friendship and most of all to have a great time.
Many of you will notice that our trestle board is quite full and much work needs to be done prior to December installations. The Officers and I would very much appreciate your consideration of time as we plan for Emergent Meetings in the month of Sep, Oct, and Nov.
To our shut-in Brethren, may the GAOTU hold you and keep you in his loving hands.
Sincerely and Fraternally, W. Bro. Donald Page
