From the East




		Hello Brethren: “Tempus Fugit” has been the theme for this year my brethren! However, the summer is approaching and the hiatus is welcomed for us all to relax and regenerate with family and friends. I hope you all have an enjoyable summer and to those brethren who will be traveling by car or air; may your journey be a safe one. The month of May was frothy with activity as we first welcomed a new member to our lodge. Bro. Mike Naugle was initiated during our regular meeting. Bro. Naugle first approached us last year to express his interest, which developed into him attending one of our open house events. Bro. Naugle later attended our district Friend-to-Friend program that progressed to his initiation night. We are honoured to have you as our newest member and will watch with anticipation as you progress through your Masonic career. The very next night many of our brethren attended the Official Visit of Orono Lodge No. 325 to support our very own Bro. Sean Howard who was passing to the 2nd Degree. For the brethren who could not attend that night, I must say Bro. Howard conducted himself in an excellent manner! W. Bro. Don Fulton (mentor) did a wonderful job in preparing Bro. Howard for his big night. How wonderful it was to see every seat in Orono Lodge filled that evening! On May 16, 2007 the Officers and brethren totaling 18 members attended William James Dunlop Lodge No. 675 in Peterborough, Ontario for our annual fraternal visit. That evening we conducted a 2nd Degree on available candidates. I must say brethren the Officers were outstanding! Fantastic work was done by all. I would like to thank W. Bro. Peter Rhodes for the invitation to participate and for their generous hospitality at the end of the meeting. A special Shout Out in thanks to the brethren who attended to support their lodge brethren. As you know Brethren our June BBQ is coming around the corner fast. I am looking forward to a feast of steak, chicken, potatoes and all the fixins. I promise the Lodge business will be done quickly so that we can get to eating and having fun. Make sure you call the JW W. Bro. Al Berry and let him know if you are coming! What a great way to finish before the summer! The 152nd Communication of Grand Lodge will be held at the Royal York Hotel as usual. I hope to see many of you downtown to witness this grand event July 18, 19. I also hear the hospitality suites will be in full swing. This is your chance to support the efforts of visitation, which will definitely put a smile on your face!
