Greetings Brethren:
At our May regular meeting we had a surprise, along with one of the best Degree work performed, with Bro. John Davidson filling in as the candidate for the evening. Thank you Bro. Davidson.
It was a very fine Degree by Officers of William James Dunlop Lodge No. 675 Peterborough District, with W.Bro. Donald Jones assuming the Gavel. He and his Degree Team made for a wonderful Fraternal visit and I enjoyed everyone's participation.
At our Emergent meeting on Saturday May 13th, we started with a pancake breakfast at Denny's Den, which was very well attended. Thank you W.Bro. Denny, W.Bro. Paterson, W.Bro. Mathurin and Bro. Kennedy for a job well done! We opened Lodge at 9:00 with two Candidates for a double Fellowcraft ceremony. Brothers Harris and Elston were very well prepared, and successfully passed to the Second Degree.
Later on Saturday May 13th, the Annual Spring Concert for the Terry Fox Foundation was well attended by Jerusalem Brethren family and friends. It was a great night of song and I thank V.W.Bro. Jack Hartwell for his hard work in making it all come together. Congratulations!
I also wish to thank those brethren who helped with the open house at the Applefest on Saturday May 6th.
Brethren, at our June regular meeting there will be no Degree work. Our annual BBQ will be at 6:00 and Lodge will open briefly at 7:30 for business and preparations to break for the Summer. Bro. Ross Metcalfe and company will be providing entertainment and our Ladies are welcome to attend.
Please plan to join me at the 'Walk-in-the-Park' 150th Anniversary of Ontario District, Memorial Park in Oshawa, just south of the Masonic Temple, on Saturday June 17th.
As this is the last meeting before summer. I remind everyone to attend Grand Lodge on the 19th of July. W.Bro. Robert Jones is seeking the support of Ontario District for the next Masonic year.
With summer upon us, May the G.A.O.T.U. be ever by your side.
Sincerely and Fraternally W.Bro. Randolph Thompson
