Brethren:
Our Regular Meeting in March was truly a success thanks to the hard work of many. Our D.D.G.M., V.W.Bro. Iain Oliver was in attendance for his Official Visit. I would like to extend thanks to all the Officers and Brethren who participated in the work; and to the Members and Guests who helped fill our side benches.
After a short business session, we Called Off the Lodge for the purpose of a Banquet. We were treated to an excellent meal from our caterers, and to some thought provoking words from R.W.Bro. Iain Oliver. We Called On the Lodge and, after working our way through general business, we proceeded with the F.C. Degree on Bro. Andrew Martin Lyng. Andrew proved to be a well prepared Candidate; and I hope that he enjoyed the F.C. Degree as much as those doing the work.
While we had the freedom of the Lodge, we were treated to a humorous and impromptu story from Bro. Wally McNight who celebrated his 90th birthday on March 7th. One story led to another; and the laughter just kept building. The Tyler and the Brethren in the anti-room must have wondered what all the commotion was about.
On Easter Monday, we had a visit from the members of the CRHL Jerusalem Lodge Minor Midget Players Hockey team; which, of course, is sponsored by Jerusalem Lodge. The team, along with some interested parents, were treated to a tour of the Lodge and some of its history in Bowmanville.
This month will see two Lodge Meetings. Our Regular Meeting will be the M.M. Degree on Bro. Michael Joseph Naugle. The Emergent Meeting is expected to be the M.M. Degree on Bro.’s Joe Dan Ford, & Andrew Martin Lyng. Don’t forget to come out to this Emergent Meeting to support your Brothers and to enjoy some of Denny’s Flyin’ Flap Jacks.
Best Fraternal Regards W.Bro. John Wheat
