From the East




	Hello Brethren: The genesis of a new season is upon us as we welcome Spring into our mist. I hope everyone is looking forward to its warmth as we prepare for the usual activities of spring-cleaning and the preparations of yards and gardens! Our Official Visit meeting for the month of March was well attended as we received our D.D.G.M. R.W.Bro. Robert E. Jones and our District Secretary W. Bro. Oswald Mathurin. The evening’s work witnessed the passing of Bro. John Spink to the 2nd Degree. I know all who attended the packed event will agree that Bro. Spink was well prepared and conducted himself in an excellent manner! I am still receiving compliments relative to his preparation and deportment. Congratulations on work well done! I am very excited to report that our Mentors Program is working extremely well. It is through the combined efforts of Past Masters working with our junior members to ensure their success as they progress through the degree work. I would like to thank W.Bro. Steve Jackman mentor for his dedication in preparing Bro. John Spink for his big night! The evening ended on a jovial note of applause and praise as I had the pleasure of presenting Masonic membership pins to the following brethren: V.W.Bro. Keith Billett (50 years), Bro. Brian Gibney (50 years), W.Bro. Alan Berry (25 years) and Bro. James Rees (25 years). On behalf of the Brethren of Jerusalem Lodge I congratulate you all on your tenure and look forward to many more years of fun, fellowship and friendship. To all of the Masters of the District, Committee Chair leaders, visiting Brethren and Jerusalem Lodge members who turned out for our Official Visit, I would like to thank you for your attendance and support which made for a great night! Great News! Our Lodge website has received Grand Lodge approval. Make sure you check it out at www.Jerusalem31.ca Our April meeting is just around the corner Brethren in which we will pass Bro. Kevin Gilroy to the 2nd Degree. Let’s get together to support our Brother and Officers this month. Many brethren will remember the time is approaching for our fraternal visit to William James Dunlop Lodge in Peterborough. Make sure you mark the date of May 16, 2007 on your calendars. The Officers of Jerusalem Lodge will be conducting a 2nd Degree on available candidates. To the Brethren who have not had the chance to visit in Peterborough, what a great opportunity to see a beautiful Lodge building and meet a great bunch of Masons!
